This finely crafted two piece timing cover looks great, but its real beauty is in the time it will save you to do cam work on your LS1, or other LS series motor with the cam sensor located in the rear of the engine. Just install the lower half once, then unbolt the top half whenever you need quick access to your cam.
You'll never need to drop the oil pan to access the cam. The unit incorporates an o-ring seal into the bottom half of the cover that mates with the smoothly machined flange on the upper section to offer a leak-free seal.
